Dr. Thom Platt is an assistant adjunct professor at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist at UK HealthCare Specialty Pharmacy. He is the Associate Director of Quality and Outcomes and focuses on telling value stories associated with care provided to patients of the specialty pharmacies and associated clinics. He is also a preceptor for the PGY1/2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency. He is an active member of several professional organizations and has presented at national conferences. The primary focus of his research relates to the disease states serviced by the specialty pharmacy, such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, and many more. A native Kentuckian, he earned his BS in Biology from Morehead State University, his PhD from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, his PharmD from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and his MBA from the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics. He completed a PGY1/2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency at UK HealthCare in Lexington, Kentucky.
