This peer learning community is designed to help Kentucky pharmacists navigate the practical challenges of implementing pharmacist billing. It began in the summer of 2026 in response to growing interest among health-system and FQHC pharmacists seeking guidance and peer support related to billing for pharmacist-provided patient care services. The peer learning community provides a forum for pharmacy leaders to discuss credentialing and privileging, billing infrastructure, workflow development, reimbursement, documentation, and implementation across commercial and Medicaid payers.
Roundtable discussions have addressed common barriers, including integrating pharmacist credentialing and privileging procedures into established health system processes, connecting with existing institutional billing specialists, credentialing pharmacists with various managed care organizations, establishing consistent documentation procedures, and workflow changes needed to support billing.
The peer learning community meets monthly and is open to pharmacists and other stakeholders involved in pharmacist billing implementation. Whether your organization is just beginning to explore billing opportunities or is actively developing workflows, the group provides a valuable forum to learn from peers across Kentucky.
