Optimize Your iPad

Follow these steps to make your iPad experience even better.

Step 1: Sign into your Apple ID

Your Apple ID is the second most important account after your Linkblue. You need an Apple ID to download apps, music, and books from App Store. It also gives you access to iCloud services including email sync, contacts sync, iCloud storage. For assistance see the Sign in with your Apple ID support page. Don't have an Apple ID? Visit Apple's ID site to create one.

Step 2: Set Up Touch ID

Touch ID makes signing into your iPad easier by allowing you to unlock your device with your fingerprints. Got to the Setup Touch ID support page for instructions.

Step 3: Update Your iPad

Take a moment to update your iPad to the latest software by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Keeping your iPad up to date is the best way to keep it working well.

Step 4: Add Your Email

Setup your UK provided email as well as any personal email you might have. See Apple's How to Add an Email Account support page to get started. Need help setting up your UK email, see this article on UK's Tech Help Center for step by step instructions.

Step 5: Add Apps

Download any apps you like (social media, games, productivity, etc) to make your iPad feel more personal. Also look in Jamf Self Service for other apps recommended by the College and UK. There are many available apps in Self Service that will enhance your learning experience. To conserve space on your iPad, we let our students decide what software they want installed.

Step 6: Accessories

You may wish to purchase some additional accessories for your iPad. the most common one being a keyboard. Here are two models we recommend.
