William G. Byrd earned his B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in 1973, followed by his Doctor of Pharmacy and pharmacy residency in 1979. Over the course of his career, he has gained experience across community, hospital, academic, military, and pharmaceutical industry practice, including a period on the UK College of Pharmacy faculty before moving his career in a different direction. William went on to serve as Global Head of Pulmonary Medicine Research Programs at Quintiles in Overland Park, Kansas, before retiring. A native of Hazard, Kentucky, he now lives in Lexington with his wife, Vickie.
