Elevating the Stories of Black Women: Dr. Virginia Alexander and Shirley Chisholm

The University of Kentucky Center for Health Equity Transformation is hosting the next event in its 2022-2023 Elevating Equity Speaker Series, co-sponsored by Anthem BlueCross and BlueShield Medicaid, the Gaines Center for the Humanities, and the Commonwealth Institute for Black Studies. Join us for a conversation with Dr. Vanessa Northington Gamble and Dr. Anastasia Curwood about the lives of Dr. Virginia Alexander and Shirley Chisholm, their experiences as biographers, and the importance of telling Black women’s stories.

College of Pharmacy to Host Symposium on Therapeutic Manipulation of Immune Function 

The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy (UKCOP) will host its eleventh annual Therapeutics, Outcomes, Discovery & Delivery (TODD) Symposium from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at the Lee T. Todd, Jr. Building. 

Global Health Book Club

Join globally-minded faculty, staff, and students and engage in global health thought without getting on a plane. Participants will read at their own pace, have support from the Office of Global Health Initiatives, and be able to discuss the book with fellow readers at their choice of an in-person or virtual small group event.

Central Kentucky Heart Ball: Bring a Ball to the Ball

The Central Kentucky Heart Ball is on February 24th. Kentucky Children's Hospital and CCHMC are joint “Bring a Ball to the Ball” sponsors this year.  This sponsorship requests that all attendees and supporters of the Heart Ball donate new sports balls that are in turn delivered to SOAR (Shaping our Appalachian Region) and distributed throughout Eastern KY to promote health and fitness to kids who may not otherwise have access.  Drop off box is located in the Dean's suite.
