Olufunmilola Abraham, PhD, MS, BPharm
Associate Professor and Chair, Pharmacy Practice & Science
Dr. Olufunmilola Abraham is the Department Chair of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy (UK COP). She is also the Director and Principal Investigator for the Collaborative Research on MEdication use & family health (CRoME) lab. Prior to joining UK COP, Dr. Abraham was a Tenured Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) School of Pharmacy in the Social and Administrative Sciences Division. She was also a NIH/UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) KL2 Scholar, Fellow of the UW Collaborative Center for Health Equity and the UW Morgridge Center for Public Service. Dr. Abraham received her MS and PhD in Social and Administrative Pharmacy from the UW School of Pharmacy. She has a PhD minor in Industrial and Systems Engineering from UW, focused on human factors and ergonomics, and a graduate certification in patient safety. Dr. Abraham received her BPharm Degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where she also practiced as a hospital and community pharmacist in Nigeria. Dr. Abraham has served as a tenure-track faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine (Departments of Pediatrics, Biomedical Informatics), Health Policy Institute, Center for Pharmaceutical Policy and Prescribing (CP3), and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI).
As the Principal Investigator of the CRoME Research Lab, Dr. Abraham has over 15 years of experience as a community-engaged and mixed-methods researcher focused on improving cancer education, vaping prevention and cessation, medication use, patient safety, health behaviors, and health outcomes for youth and families. She is also an expert in game-based learning, serious game development, and the design, dissemination, and implementation of health interventions in community and clinical settings. Dr. Abraham is the author of over 70 publications and has given over 70 scientific presentations which include invited lectures, seminars, and conference presentations. She has been funded by the AcademyHealth, American Cancer Society, UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, UW Carbon Cancer Center, UW Prevention Research Center, UW Morgridge Center for Public Service, UW Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education (OVCRGE), UW Ira and Ineva Reilly Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment, Robert F. and Jean E.
