Craig Martin, PharmD, MBA
Interim Dean, Professor and Chief Operations Officer
Dr. Craig Martin is the Interim Dean of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, where he has advanced the College’s mission for more than 20 years as a resident, clinician, educator, and administrator. A 1999 graduate of the College, he most recently served as Associate Dean for Operations, leading areas such as finance, business operations, human resources, communications, and alumni relations.
As a Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, Dr. Martin teaches infectious diseases and leadership topics to pharmacy students. Earlier in his career, he directed UK HealthCare’s nationally acclaimed Antimicrobial Stewardship Program for more than a decade, a model recognized with national awards for innovation and impact.
His professional contributions extend beyond the University. Dr. Martin served on the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, including as President in 2019, and has received numerous awards, including Pharmacist of the Year from the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists’ Outstanding Clinical Practice Award, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ Best Practice Award.
Throughout his career, Dr. Martin has been dedicated to cultivating an environment where students thrive, faculty innovate, and staff feel valued. A passionate educator, he continues to inspire future pharmacists through teaching and mentorship, cherishing the “lightbulb moments” when students discover new passions in patient care.
Born and raised in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, Dr. Martin now lives in Georgetown with his spouse, Valerie, and their three children.
