Our Faculty
The University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy has appointed Madison Blanton, Ph.D., as its newest postdoctoral academic fellow. A recent graduate of the college's pharmaceutical sciences Ph.D. program, Blanton will spend the next year building expertise in teaching, educational scholarship and academic service as she prepares for an academic career.
Robert J. Kuhn, PharmD, has been named the recipient of this year's University of Kentucky (UK) Piecoro Pioneer Award in Pediatric Pharmacy, given annually to someone who has made sustained contributions to the field and shown a passion for growing the next generation of pediatric pharmacists. Kuhn is the 10th recipient since the award's founding in 2017, when its namesake, John Piecoro, PharmD, was the inaugural honoree.
Northern Kentucky University (NKU) and the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy (UKCOP) have signed an articulation agreement establishing a 3+4 pre-pharmacy and Pharm.D. program, creating a streamlined pathway for NKU students to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in seven years instead of the traditional eight.
Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars have the opportunity to study alongside world-class faculty and staff in a number of new and emerging areas of science. Investigators conduct front-line research in areas of pharmaceutics that range from identifying fundamental mechanisms of disease to designing and developing new drugs, to understanding the impact of policies on health care.
