Shikhar Shukla is a Biomedical Data Scientist in Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. He supports clinical and translational research through biostatistics, biomedical data science, and health informatics, with work focused on managing complex biomedical datasets, building research data systems, applying statistical and machine learning methods, and developing reports and visualizations that help translate data into meaningful research insights.

He collaborates with faculty and research teams across projects involving electronic medical records, healthcare registries, and other large-scale health data systems, and contributes to research development through data analysis, hypothesis testing, reporting, manuscripts, grant support, and infrastructure development. 

Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, he served as a Public Health Informatics Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). His work focused on strengthening surveillance infrastructure, improving data quality and stewardship, and developing innovative, scalable approaches for complex public health datasets. His contributions to AI and data-driven innovation in public health were recognized through the CDC AI Champion distinction and other honors.

His background combines clinical experience with expertise in biomedical data science, public health informatics, and applied analytics.
