Fellow to Present at ACCP PRN Forum

Jennifer Oh, a post-doctoral fellow working with Scott Akers, will be presenting 2 different abstracts at next month's ACCP Cardiology PRN Networking Forum. Her oral presentation will be entitled "Impact of P2Y12 Halpotype on the Antiplatelet Effects of Clopidogrel in Off-Pump Bypass Surgery Patients." Her poster presentation will be entitled " Improving the Quality of Care and Use of Beta-Blockers for Heart Patients Admitted to a Teriary Center."

Ryan Presents Lectures in Japan

While visiting Kitasato University, in Tokyo, Melody Ryan gave a total of 5 lectures to the Masters in Clinical Pharmacy students as a visiting professor. She also presented one seminar to the Kitasato faculty entitled, " On the Job Training for University of Kentucky Pharmacy Students: Teaching Cooperation with Staff Pharmacists and other Healthcare Profesionals."

Jeremy Flynn Receives ACCP Award

Jeremy Flynn has just been awarded the 2004 ACCP Sanofi-Synthelabo Thrombosis Investigator Development Research Award. His proposal was entitled "Clinical Utility of the Rapid Platelet Function Analyzer." Jeremy will receive $15,000 for this award from the ACCP Research Institute.

Akers and Flynn Published in Pharmacotherapy
