Kuhn Named UK’s Top Student Organization Advisor
April 28, 2015
Robert J. Kuhn, the Kentucky Hospital Association Professor in the College’s Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, has been named the University of Kentucky’s Student Organization Advisor of the Year.
Dr. Kuhn, who serves as advisor for the College’s PediaKATS organization, was recognized at the University’s Honors and Recognition program at the UK Student Center.
“Dr. Kuhn goes above and beyond for all PediaKATS members throughout the year,” said Savannah Gulley, a third-year PharmD who served as President of PediaKATS during the 2014-15 academic year. “Not only does he encourage us to become involved in the community, he mentors each of us throughout the year in order to better prepare us for the next steps in our profession. He is always there for us, and we are all very appreciative for his continued support.”
This has been a banner year for Dr. Kuhn. In December 2014, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation named Dr. Kuhn its top preceptor for 2014.
The recognition, he said, has been overwhelming.
“All of us who teach, advise and mentor for a living never do so for the recognition,” said Dr. Kuhn. “But when you are recognized by those that you are proud to serve each day, it is the peak of our profession. It was, indeed, a thrill to be honored as UK’s Student Organization Advisor of the Year, and I thank all of the PediaKATS students who share this award with me. Our students inspire me every day.”
