Divine Receives Provost’s Outstanding Teaching Award
April 21, 2015
Holly S. Divine, a UK College of Pharmacy faculty member and alumna, is one of ten individuals from across campus to be recognized for their excellence in the classroom with the 2015 University of Kentucky Provost's Outstanding Teaching Awards.
Dr. Divine, an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, received the Provost’s Outstanding Teaching Faculty Award, which “recognizes regular and special title series faculty for outstanding teaching performance.”
“The University of Kentucky is proud to recognize and honor the work of our faculty who help shape tomorrow’s leaders,” said UK Provost Timothy S. Tracy. “When you put students first like Holly Divine does and ensure that each student not only has the chance to succeed but to thrive, you are doing it right. I commend Dr. Divine and all of our 2015 faculty award winners for their commitment to student success.”
In addition to her teaching role, Dr. Divine is the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) Coordinator in the College’s Office of Experiential Education and Residency Director of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy Community Residency Program.
Learning she received the award was a humbling, Dr. Divine said.
“It was surreal,” said Dr. Divine. “As faculty, we work each day to inspire our students and provide them with the tools they need to succeed. To be recognized for that work by the University means a lot to me. I thank everyone involved in this day, especially God who has gifted me with abilities and opportunities to teach our future pharmacists – it was truly a special moment in my academic career.”
